Patricia et Michel sont heureux de vous accueillir dans leur maison. Cette maison a marqué des générations d’enfants de ce coin de Bruxelles parce que des ateliers d’initiation à l’art s’y donnaient (les ateliers Machri). Cette maison fait partie de toute une série de maisons construites en 1923, sous l’ appellation ‘ Cité Jardin du Vogelzang’. Cette maison est nouvelle dans le Parcours et n’a jamais été ouverte au public.
Florica Prevenda travaille en Roumanie, où elle est une artiste contemporaine reconnue et cotée. Avec des éléments simples, du carton, des clous, du matériel d’emballage, et de la peinture, elle travaille avec une virtuosité incroyable. Sa vie artistique pourrait être subdivisée en périodes pendant lesquelles elle travaille obsessionnellement un thème. Par exemple dans sa série ‘ Faces Without a Face’ elle crée des têtes humaines sans dessiner la face, seul l’intéresse ce qui est exprimé par la personne. Ou dans ‘ Netpeople’ elle s’interroge sur l’appauvrissement de nos sociétés soit disant hypercommunicantes . Et encore avec ‘Shadows of the Present’ elle exprime l’imperfection de l’homme par des silhouettes sans tête.

Patricia and Michel are delighted to welcome you into their home. This house is known to generations of children in this part of Brussels because of the art workshops held there (the Machri workshops). It is part one of a series of houses built in 1923 under the name ‘Cité Jardin du Vogelzang’. The house is new to the Parcours and has never been open to the public.
