Ute et Liviu sont heureux de vous ouvrir leur maison. Le quartier à l’époque, a été construit surtout en style cottage. Quel audace le maître d’œuvre a dû avoir pour faire construire une maison moderniste ! Ce mouvement typique de la première moitié du XXième siècle, retourne au décor minimal, aux lignes géométriques pures. Les actuels occupants ont élégamment souligné ce dessin pur grâce à un jeu subtil de gris. Et ils ont mis en valeur une très belle rénovation de l’ arrière, inondée de soleil.
Florica Prevenda travaille en Roumanie, où elle est une artiste contemporaine reconnue et cotée. Avec des éléments simples, du carton, des clous, du matériel d’emballage, et de la peinture, elle travaille avec une virtuosité incroyable. Sa vie artistique pourrait être subdivisée en périodes pendant lesquelles elle travaille obsessionnellement un thème. Par exemple dans sa série ‘ Faces Without a Face’ elle crée des têtes humaines sans dessiner la face, seul l’intéresse ce qui est exprimé par la personne. Ou bien dans ‘Netpeople’ elle s’ interroge sur l’appauvrissement de nos sociétés soit disant hypercommunicantes. Et encore avec ‘Shadows of the present’ elle exprime l’imperfection de l’homme par des silhouettes sans têtes.

Ute en Liviu vinden het fijn u in hun huis te mogen verwelkomen. Indertijd was de “cottage stijl” de bouwtrend in de wijk. Het getuigt van veel lef dat de bouwheer het aandurfde om te kiezen voor een modernistische woning! Deze typische stroming van de eerste helft van de 20ste eeuw, keert terug naar een minimaal decor, met zuivere geometrische lijnen. De huidige bewoners benadrukken dit zuivere dessin op modieuze wijze door een subtiel spel van grijze tinten. De achterzijde van het huis, dat baadt in het zonlicht, werd eveneens opgewaardeerd door een zeer mooie renovatie.

En met de reeks “Shadows of the present” drukt ze middels silhouetten zonder hoofd de onvolmaaktheid van de mens uit.

Ute and Liviu and are pleased to open their house. At the time this house was built, the existing style of the neighbourhood was mainly “cottage”. How daring to build a modernist house! This movement, typical of the first half of the twentieth century, goes back to minimal décor, with pure geometric lines. The current occupants have elegantly emphasised that pure design with subtle greys. And they have made the most of a beautiful extension at the rear, bathed in sunlight.
